This is a decent, low-cost alternative to the new line of $100 mirror mounts available. Mounting the clamp on the mirror stem was a bit of a challenge due to having to use wing nuts instead of allen-head screws. The lower stem is made of plastic, very easy to use and quite adjustable. Once adjusted to the proper position make sure to really tighten the thumb screw securely or the detector will not stay in place. All in all a good mounting system for about $18 or less and free shipping!

The mount is well made and has good range if you are mounting directly under the mirror. I wanted to put my detector a little behind the mirror so that it is hidden by the mirror and is was a little difficult to get it into that position ... as a matter of fact I was unable to get it totally behind the mirror so it didn't have the range I would have most desired. That is why I rated it down one star.
