The ETR was the first is a series of 645 format camera produced by Bronica starting in 1976. They are solid precision instruments that have to be treated as such to avoid a non-functioning unit. The body, lens and shutter, and the film back all have to be operational in order to take a picture. The camera will not function if there is no film in it and the shutter has to be cocked in order to remove and replace the lens - it is easy to mistakenly assume that the camera is inoperable if one or more necessary steps have been overlooked. Once you have mastered this camera, it will reward you with gorgeous color and B&W photos. One really superior feature is that the leaf shutter (electronic, made by Seiko) allows flash synchonization at shutter speeds up to and including 1/500th of a second - most other medium format cameras from this era did not have this feature. Be sure to read the camera manual in full, available online if you do not have an original, to thoroughly acquaint yourself with this camera before installing film to take photos.Read full review
