This is called the Orient K a m a s u and not Mako III. Its a new line similar to the Ray and Mako but with some improvements and a sapphire glass. What an EXCELLENT watch. I was in the market for my first everyday automatic watch and after reading several forums had decided to go for an Orient Ray II. However, judging from the fate of my previous fitness band, i knew it would be better to get a watch with sapphire glass. I looked at buying an aftermarket sapphire crystal for the Ray II and inclusive of fitting charges it was going to cost me just as much as this watch. So i decided to buy this watch instead as it came with sapphire from the factory so i wouldn't have to rely on a local watch shop to open it up and change the glass and compromise water resistance in case they didn't do a good job. Plus there is always the risk that there is some tiny dust/lint that gets onto the dial that will bother me massively. The way i see it, this watch has an arguably better design also (to my eyes) i like the sharper design of the hands and sharper triangle at 12 also the other indices are more angular v/s circles on the Ray II. I got the green one and the colour is fantastic. I was thinking of getting the blue as blue is generally considered versatile, but its far too common. I dont regret my decision of going for green. Its a really dark green/bottle green and almost looks black sometimes in ambient room light. The dial is actually a matte finish and if you look closely you can see the powdery matte finish on the dial. However, it does have that hour glass like shine (sunburst effect?) in the sun and in certain lighting but its not as pronounced as on the Ray II likely because of the sapphire glass and its optical properties. Also this watch fixes some niggling issues with the Ray II such as the ultra tight bezel. The bezel on this is smooth and doesn't require too much strength. Even the crown, while not extremely grippy, still manages to unscrew with relative ease. However, I think the engraved crown on the Ray II looks much better. The crown on the Kamasu looks laser etched or painted, i cant tell for sure but its certainly not a deep engraving like on the Ray II. Overall great fit and finish on the watch itself The accuracy on this has been really really good so far. I synced it to an online atomic clock and right now 3 days later it has gained only 1 second. So I imagine it will gain 3-5 seconds over the course of a week. UPDATE: Been wearing this watch for a couple of days now and at the end of a work day (wearing it for ~10 hours or so) it gains 2 seconds. I leave it on my side table at night with the dial face up and by morning it automatically corrects itself and is back to the correct time as time.is. I am amazed at this accuracy. The only downside to this watch is the bracelet. I am a watch newbie and even i can tell this is a cheap bracelet. If i shake my arm it squeaks like an old car and is annoying. Also I am not a big fan of the finishing on the bracelet, mine came with some imperfections from the factory. Anyway i plan to throw on a NATO strap which is lighter and more convenient for daily use. If you're in the market for an entry level watch, i would say consider this. Its hard to beat the value this offers. Its a complete package for a reasonable price. Read full review

Good watch but a couple of issues that let it down for me . Crown us too small and difficult to operate. The second issue fits with the first. It’ runs very fast and constantly needs correcting. The crown makes thus process a chore. Apart from thus it’s an attractive watch

In every regard other than the dial colour the watch is as described and illustrated. Sizing the bracelet was straight forward and provides a very comfortable fit. Wasn't expecting the accuracy to be comparable with my eco-drive Citizen's so not disappointed on that score. Even on a 6 1/2 inch wrist this diver model sits just fine. So the one star reduction relates only to the teal green being much darker than it looked on my lap top, would therefore recommend a visit to a retail shop to avoid possible disappointment.

This watch is everything you need it to be. Smart, practical, comfortable and great value. Check out you tube for in depth reviews on this watch and you'll see what I mean. One thing that will surprise you though is how small it actually is on the wrist, this is not a chunky watch. Get a nice leather strap and a rubber dive strap to go with it and you have the perfect everyday watch.
