Leica has made lovely cases for their products since the very beginning in 1925, originally in the same factory that the cameras were made in. 18710 is really three Leica X1 cases in one - a separate half case, secured by the tripod socket; a full case that mounts to the half case in a different position; and a small case for an optical viewer (unlike the X2, the Leica X cannot be fitted with a Leica EVF). Plus a nice, draw-string, Leica-branded cover that holds all three cases, and also makes a quick let's-get-going bag for the camera. BE AWARE! There's also a variant, which seems to carry the same number (18710) but has a cut-out bottom front left, allowing the case to be used with the Leica Handgrip, 18712. This case won't fit bodies without handgrips. Overall, the 18710 case has the highest quality materials and workmanship, and is really good value right now, considering what Leica-branded items tend to sell for. Not to mention Luigi cases at $200+!. NOTE: This case fits only the X1. Neither the half or full case fit the X2.Read full review

This case works great with the Leica X1. Be aware that this case is not large enough to fit the X2 due to the difference in dimensions of the updated version. The case will not fully close with the X2’s increased height for the EVF.

Fits the camera perfectly with or without the X1 grip handle. Easy to access the camera and has the quality and protection you'd expect from Leica.

I had an equal bag earlier bought from leica dealer in us. It is perfect to the X1 and handgrip.
