    Ditch the plastic!

    Take a Tusq nut and a plastic nut and drop them onto a hard surface and listen. The plastic will have a dull 'clack' and the Tusq will have an almost resonant 'ping'! Don't expect to just drop one of these straight in on your guitar and be good to go, you'll need to cut the slots to the correct depth and radius the top but the factory slots do help save a lot of time measuring. The end result really adds life to the tone of any guitar with a standard plastic nut.
