The quality is terrible. Its not even standard DVD quality. It is fuzzy and blurry ALL the time. Worse when the camera moves at all. I know I wasn’t buying HD, but it’s not even SD. It has to be around 320 quality or worse. DO NOT BUY!

Fun Series, Comfortingly Familiar
It's The Golden Girls, you probably pretty much know what you're getting if you buy this. Picture fidelity is not great, I think that's a hard thing to find with a series from this era, but it isn't crucial to the stories. It looks just fine for the kind of basic sitcom that it is, and it's plenty clear enough to show the brilliance of the cast, who are all terrific. It has occasional problems; from the perspective of today, it seems pretty backward with regard to race and sexuality sometimes, but it's good-hearted and never unkind. Great one-liners, impeccably delivered, and deep, rich character development. Little of it is serialized, but some pieces are, and it's nice to have the whole series so as to be able to follow all of that in order.

Comedy Must have! Sheerly brilliant!
This set is a must have and the unique "Purse" box is a wonderful touch! The playing cards with the star's images are a nice nostalgic touch to all the episodes with them playing and Sophia's hillarious cheeting attempts ... The world needs more of this kind of quality humor. It was a time when so many taboo topics were banned from television but this show managed to take them all on from Gay Rights to the AIDS epidemic, to Chronic Pain and mixed racial Marriage. This show took them all on with Comedic Exellence. The 80's were a time where we all needed a bit of "The Girls" in our life ... And A bit of cheesecake! Much like today... Today these episodes stand well up against modern TV because they are still relevent. This set is a godsend for those who are tired of the reality and Crime drama craze on every channel at all hours of the day. These charectors were easy to relate to and gave the welcomeing warm feeling of home and to this day they maintain that feeling. Its like sitting down with friends in each half hour segment. As for extras the set does OKAY ...But I think I could have lived without the cometary on the wardrobe. A gag reel would have been a wonderful addition as I see many out takes online that would have been wonderful. Some episodes I found were horribly edited to fit in commericals and entire pieces of the story got left out when they aired, its a wonderful discovery that makes the set that much more of a must have. This is one of those rare gems that if you can afford the lofty 100$+ that you should have ... I watch them over and over and cannot thank these women enough for their flashy style, cute quips, amazing comedic timing and wonderful writing . This show is missed greatly and I would recommend this set to anyone that needs some genuine Laughter in their lives ... The Episode With the Condom skit is a great big Belly laugh on its own and the 4 of them in various Bird costumes for a childrens play is a must see ! The Set comes in a Clear plastic protective case and "Sophia's Purse" is suprizingly well put together and everything fits nicely. I spend hours with the set and have even rewatched some seasons 2 or three times ... This says it all ... If you want a great bundle with hours of laughs buy this!Read full review
