The Hasselblad 555ELD has all the benefits of the traditional Hasselblad "V" series cameras and lenses. It's built like a tank, simple, and straight forward to use. If you've used any Hasselblad made back to the early 1970's, this one will be very familiar. In this final rendition of the classic V series cameras they added a stronger shutter and mirror mechanism and have integrated all the electronics in the camera body that are used to trigger a digital back. I have two of these cameras and use them with Imacon digital backs, though other brands would operate similarly. There are four contacts on the back connection that allows the camera to trigger a digital back without having to add on any external cables or sync cords. If you own and love a lot of old Hasselblad gear, this is a great way to extend it's life and make it a totally digital camera. It will of course still accept any of the A12, A24, A16, etc. types of film backs. This is a great time to buy one of these cameras as they originally sold for a lot of money, and many were used as back up cameras in a studio setting so that they are still almost new.Read full review
