I am Video Recording with the Panasonic AG-HMC152E and missed sometimes the opportunity to record a Scene from two sites, not to interrupt a scene with Zooming, I bought the Nikon D 7000 to get the view from a scene on two sites,so I can assemble it in editing. And to get Photos, after studying the Camera on Internet and practicing Video and making Photos, I believe I made the right choice and have a great equipment. I do not like the noise when focusing in Video mode, that is absolute not acceptable. I have no comparison with other Products, when I consider the Tests from other people on U-Tube, I believe it was the right decision to get the Nikon D 7000, I avoid focusing while Recording Video and set it up before, a lot can be done in editing, but the next step for me now is to separate the sound and buy a Zoom H4n to record the Sound when using the Nikon for Video.Read full review
An excellent upper mid range camera. But remember that the 300 pages of manual take quite some time to absorb and understand the many features and functions of this camera. It is not a simple point and click camera and it takes a while to learn the options available such as ISO adjustment and the use of the movie function. And of course the quality of the lenses you use makes the difference between good snaps and quality pictures. But the D7000 is a good start.
I'm a part-time amateur photographer. This camera can do just about anything though I only use a small fraction of its abilities. Auto exposure pics are easy; cunning stuff requires more work with the manual and experience. The 200mm lens, spot focussing + high shutter speed, handheld, has allowed me to get some creditable pics of wild birds in trees or even while flying. Very pleased with it even if I never learn to use it fully. The weight is a drawback but well worth lugging around for top quality pictures.

I have investigated before I have made the decision which is the Camera will provide everything I need and I have come to the conclusion this would be Nikon D7000. I would not buy the product If I have found something I did not like. I have been using Nikon quite a while and I like the brand and I was very happy in the past so I have decided to stick with same brand.
After being a photographer for many years, I think I was unfair in not thinking about DSLR digital cameras until I more or less had to. Entry level cameras do not in my opinion, come any better than the Nikon D7000. Excellent quality, absolute reliability.
