I am an assistant director at a childcare center and working on my BA degree. I have taken a class dealing with adaptations and modifications in an Early Childhood classroom. I purchased this book because I wanted to learn more ways to help children with special needs, regarding the disability. This book has allowed me to adapt the classroom for the children in need. Inclusion is becoming a big part of early childhood classrooms as well as elementary classrooms. Teachers who really care will take that time to read and find the things needed to adapt for those that need to learn at a different pace. I would highly reccommend this book to anyone in the teaching field, early childhood, and to parents with children with special needs.
This book has great ideas for dealing with 6 areas of disabilities and can be used in Head Start, State Preschool and other early childhood classrooms. I am using it in an "Special Needs Curriculum" class in community college and students like it the best of any text that I have used.
