If you ever wanted an impressive model from "Star Trek," this is it! The Polar Lights TOS Enterprise builds out to almost 3 feet in length and is designed so that it can be easily built in sub-assemblies. The pieces are well-detailed, but there is ample opportunity for scratch-building (if you're so inclined). For those interested in lighting the ship, various pieces can accommodate wiring and bulbs but you'll have to purchase a lighting kit separately. (It's hard to resist NOT lighting the model, it's that nice!) Finally, the kit includes an improved painting guide based on extensive research of the actual filming miniature. Guesswork as to what colors to use has been significantly reduced, making the painting experience a whole lot easier! Enjoy!

If you are a Trekker or just enjoy good kits this kit is a must have. Detailed, easy to paint and assemble (if you are somewhat experienced) and it’s big. I just wish the lighting kit had been included instead of an additional purchase. Other than that it’s a full five stars in my opinion.

Received kit today, opened immediately, and was very impressed with the quality of the parts. First I dry fit the nacelles and the saucer section and it fits really well with minimal space seam to fill around for a seamless finish. Nice fit it will be very easy to build. Although the model was impregnated with the correct color to minimize painting I plan to paint the entire ship to enhance realism. One thing I noticed was the TOS saucer section is 2 inches smaller than the same model and scale as the Refit NCC 1701-A. I thought they would be the same size. Pros: Great fit Ready prep color on the body to minimize painting Well detailed parts. Nice quality decals Parts are strong and well made. This model of the USS Enterprise will be exciting to build. I plan on ordering the lighting kit to complete the model. I may even commission the ship as the USS Defiant from the original series. I will begin work when the weather gets cold (winter will be here soon!)
