Have your favorite vegetable and cut of meat handy and a starch....throw in some herbs and seasonings to taste and then browse the contents of Cooking Know-How and follow their tips and techniques, which tell you even what pan and utensils to use. Lots of interesting facts, new techniques and a multitude of variations on basic recipes. This is nice when you have just some odds and ends of stuff in your refrigerator/freezer and have no idea what to do with it to make a meal.
