Great guitar... versatile instrument. I bought this guitar to have something else as a backup to my Strat... to have something similar to it but not the same either. The Telecaster may not have the body cutaway of a Stratocaster (except for the Deluxe models) or a 5-way selector switch either (The Tele has a 3-way switch for 2 pickups only), but that's the way I like it. It's suppose to be just that; "a Tele". I'm a "Strat guy" personally, but I've been spending more time with this Telecaster because of its natural tone... "the twang" is what gives it character. It's not too twangy either. It's not suppose to be a banjo or anything like that, but it's perfect in my opinion for its clean tones. The notes are bright yet not "tinny" or "brittle" at the same time. It sounds good "dirty" too on a distortion setting. It is solid, and the modern C-shape neck (maple on mine) is smooth and comfortable to play. The tuning machine heads hold up very well. Some people use locking tuners (a standard feature on the Deluxe models), but I think that is more useful if one decides to add a tremolo system (ex: Bigsby). I can't say that there is something I don't like about the Telecaster. "It's a keeper."Read full review
I purchased this '04 American Telecaster to add to my other Teles. Fender Telecasters made in the USA are top quality instruments and if you are a tele player then enough said. The American Telecaster IMO only has one rival in its class and that would be the Japanese Teles from the Fujigen factory equipped with American pickups. The over all build and finish qualities of the Japanese teles from this factory are second to none. One of which I also have the pleasure to own.
This a beautiful guitar, with flamed front and back of bady. The gold hardware accentuates the look. Plugged in, the guitar has that distinctive tele sound. The fretboard is easy to navigate rather you are strumming or picking. The uniqueness of only 1250 guitars having been made, makes this guitar special. If one comes on the market, seriously consider purchasing it for playing and collecting.
They're great. Not what I bought; but it wouldn't stop asking me to review it. I bought a Lace Cybercaster. Awesome guitar. Buy one if you find one. They only made about 70.
Smooth sound, nice neck. If you want to play blues this is your guitar. The guitar is not heavy but the sustain is good enough for a single coil pick up.
