The game itself plays just as you would expect it, as it is a high-octane action-adventure title that attempts to put you right in the role of James Bond himself. The game, with how it is set up, really rewards those who act like Bond, taking their time and using their brains to think things out. This is due to the fact that the game has a very intuitive cover system, which allows you to take cover, and plan out your attacks on enemies. Needless to say, if you try to run into a room without a plan or any cover you are in big trouble. Beyond that, you also get some variety in the game play as you move along to with a few stealth missions, as well as other different things for you to try out. The whole game plays out very smoothly, as the controls make this one fun game with plenty of action to be had for any Bond fan. In regards to the visuals, Quantum of Solace is somewhere in the middle as there is some good, as well as some bad. Starting with the good, the environments, as well as the model of Daniel Craig are fantastic. The Daniel Craig model is highly-detailed and looks true-to-life. As for the bad, there are clearly some issues here with the animations due to the fact that you end up seeing the same canned sequences by enemies over and over again. On top of that, the visual effects with explosions and such are not up to par. When it comes down to the actual replay value, the single-player campaign is not all that long and can be plowed through in a weekend or so. Treyarch has included an online component though to allow you to jump online with up to 12 players in a match. You get some pretty standard modes such as co-op, death match, etc. The online mode adds to the experience, but is nothing groundbreaking. Quantum of Solace is a respectable game , and one which Bond fans will not be disappointed in. There is a good deal of enjoyment to be had with the solid controls and use of the Bond license. When it boils down to it though, the entire package is pretty average. Graphics: 8.0 A good looking game with nicely detailed environments and character models. Sound: 8.0 The score sounds great, as are the voice-overs. Gameplay: 7.0 The game is enjoyable and is fun to control, but not much here in terms of innovation. Things can get very repetitive. Replay Value: 7.0 The single player campaign is not all that long, and don’t expect much from the multi-player. "The best bond game since Goldeneye" was pretty close. Quantum of Solace is a first person/third person hybrid shooter, which has you use an array of weapons, grenades, and takedowns to advance through single player. Whenever you crouch behind a wall or an object, it switches into third person and you can see Bond. Quantum of Solace consists of Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace so you get to play through both movies! Let me tell you, the missions are very interesting, fun, and makes you think becuase, after all, Bond's greatest weapon is his mind. The AI is also very intelligent and will do anything to kill you. The multiplayer is a blast if you have four friends. Otherwise, stick to single player and online. It's great for parties and gatherings, though, and for your Xbox lover friends who only play FPS's. The real meat of the game comes in the online mode. Using Nintendo WFC, you can connect online and play a free for all or an objective race in teams or alone. It is the best part of the game I'll tell you that. The controls are really simple and are great to pick up & play. I'd recommend using the Wiimote and Nunchuck and not the Zapper. The control is harder with the Zapper. With B to shoot and A to crouch, you'll be on your way to 007 in no time! Overall, Quantum of Solace is, in my opinion, the second best Bond game since Goldeneye. The first being Nightfire. I loved that game. Overall, I'd give it a 8.5/10. Buy it!Read full review
If it has 007 for a title, you know it's going to be great. I know movie based games get trashed all the time, but the Bond video games are alot of fun. You do not want too miss out. Nuff said.
