I love this book because it is a quick reference book for almost any kind of food you might want to cook. If you find yourself with with almost any fruit, vegetable, meat, etc you need to use; just look in this book. In alphabetical order you will find the food you want to use and how to use it starting with hors d'oeuvres, salads, soups, side dishes, entrees, desserts and snacks.(The order of use in a meal). Instead of looking in the index of several books, you can quickly find many things you can do with any particular food. I purchased it because I already have one that had been given to me by my mother many years ago, and I wanted to have one for our second home.
I bought my original copy of this cook book in the 1970's at Karamursel Common Defense Installation in Turkey, near Istanbul. I was a new military bride. It is truly my cooking Bible. My daughter wanted a copy, as she also thinks it is the best there is for cooking ideas, information, setting formal and informal breakfast, luncheon or dinner tables etc. It is simply the best information in one book I have ever found. I was so lucky to find it early on in my marriage. Anyone who needs information on anything to do with cooking or setting a table or measurements can't go wrong. This is truly a master piece in one book. I consider it a privilege to own it.
This cookbook is one that has been in my family since the early 70's. It is so easy to use and has the best recipes for dishes your mother and grandmother use to make. It even tells you how to cook everything in alphabetical order, including wild game. It is a must for any new cook. Bought this one for my granddaughter. Now there are four generations of my family that have this wonderful book. Thanks for reprinting the original.
We bought a copy of this book from a college student who was selling books back in the 1970s. We absolutely loved it and used the book constantly. This purchase was for my daughter, who has used it all her life and wanted a copy of her own.
