I found as many reviewers also did that the plastic covers for the clips is so slick that is rotates around the metal clip when you try to squeeze it to attach the clip to a wire make the clip literally unusable. BUT, I found a way to correct this. I slid the plastic cover back, opened the jaws and put the jaws over a small dowel to keep them open then put a drop of super glue on the top and bottom of the clip then slipped the plastic cover back over the clip. Then I released the jaws from the dowel. If you do it fast enough and get the plastic positioned quickly, the clips do NOT slip anymore after you let the super glue cure.

The insulators are so slick I have a hard time squeezing the alligator and opening it. It allows the metal alligator to twist and avoid being opened. Also, after a little use I have had 2 of them go high resistance and fail to show conductivity on my VOM. Poor quality.

The soft plastic shrouds are too loose and allow the alligator clips to spin 90 degrees when trying to open them. This makes it very difficult to open the clips and renders them mostly useless. The wire is also extremely thin.
