We have numerous drives, both internal and external. The LaCie quad drives are relatively expensive and very heavy, but they seem to be more reeliable than the smaller USB3 drives. After we bought thiem for a project that requires routine shipping and return of the drives, I found that LaCie is now owned by Seagate. We have had numerous Seagate failures; time will tell if the LaCies start failing. So far, so good.
