There is nothing wrong with the card, specially when it is new. If it is used it has a configuration on it. So you think a quick arp - a will give you what you need but no, that won't work. So you think, hey, I select the reset and then I am done. No that not either. What you need to do is hook it up with a serial cable, the one APC has, not the one you have left over and set it to 2400, 8, n, 1, none and push the reset on the card. When the led blinks orange green push the reset again and use hyperterm to get in it. The pass word is "aps" and PW is "aps" within 30 seconds. If you are to late, start over. Once you are in it you have to set the admin password quickly, or start back over. After you do it 10 times you get the drift. NOW you can set the IP and log into it with a computer on your network. From there is fun to play with. APC has the documentation but you have to look. I found it after I set up 8 cards without a problem. You can telnet into as well once you enable that in programs and features, turn application nd features on and find telnet. Read full review

These cards worked perfectly in my UPSs. They were carefully packed in anti-static packaging. Despite being used, the faceplates were clean - no scratches or sticker residue. The firmware on them was quite old, but they were easy to flash with the latest firmware. I did replace the rubber feet under the cards, as those had deteriorated, but that was easy too.

If you need one, you need one plain and simple. That being said, the card does its job well and is of excellent construction. The only issue I would ever have with the card is that the onboard battery is not replaceable.

Very good product indispensable for any APC. Good packaging and very easy to use. Unfortunately it was not reset to factory defaults on receipt. But this is very easy to do yourself after some searching on Google.

Check the APC website to see which network card your UPS is compatible with. Mine uses the expansion 2 slot. You just have to hold the reset button for 10-12 seconds (look at the indicator light) and it’s fully reverted to DHCP and factory settings.
