This gps unit is my first though I've used similar systems belonging to family members. The input is pretty much a no brainer - plug in address and follow directions. Very straight forward and simple with an easy to read and follow touch screen. The directions are given with plenty of heads up for upcoming turns and such, the ability to add locations to an address book for future reference via data input or being at that location. A kinda cool feature is the addition of points of interest on the maps like gas stations, restaraunts and such. One thing I'd like is for the maps to be updated. A recent highway bypass I take regularly doesn't show up on the live map so it looks like I'm just driving off road sometimes. Similarly, points of interest like new business aren't on there or ones that have closed are still on map. This may be a matter of performing an update or purchasing new maps in an electronic format but I haven't been that concerned yet. It's not that big a deal b/c overall, I bought the thing just to get from here to there and for that, it works really well.Read full review
This is a very easy to use, compact unit. It is a little older model, so your maps and POIs may be a bit out of date if your area has grown much, but they should be fairly recent (expect around 2007 maps). If your area hasn't grown, this shouldn't be a problem. The screen size is a bit smaller than many of the more current models, but this can be a big plus to some as it takes up less space. With the voice prompts you really don't need the screen as big. You will find you rarely look at it if the voice prompts are guiding you to your destination. There are a few features available on newer models that are not on this one (voice recognition, bluetooth, MP3 compatibility, etc), but for the price this little unit can't be beat. Just shop around for the best deals from the more reputable sellers.Read full review
We purchased this unit used and got it for a suprizingly great price. The directions are accurate and clear. Warnings on upcoming turns are at a good distance. It can re-route and exclude turns to re-route around them. For example, one of our main roads is under construction. I can click the map and re-route around that street. Since I got it used I did not get any directions with the unit. It is intuitive enough that I don't feel like I need them. The unit runs a mini version of windows as the operating system - Windows CE. The same you will see on a lot of the Smart Phones. The only irritating thing that happens is the Start bar of windows CE OS is not hidden sometimes and the top of the bar covers a few rows of pixels. This can block a bit of the numbers telling you the distance to the next turn. It is easy enough to go to the Start/Task bar settings and turn the Auto Hide on like you do in windows.Read full review
I used to use a Magellan Maestro 3225 for work and I loved it. I bought a newer model 4370 a few months ago and while it's sharper looking with more features, it's missing some of the old features 3000 series models. One big feature is the ringing you here when you get to the street you have to turn on, the newer model just tells you you're 400 feet away some times it's hard to know which street to turn on. Another feature on this models that was left out of the newer models is telling you whether the location you are looking for is on the left or the right side which is really helpful. So I bought this used 3200 model to get those features back. So far I haven't found a difference between the 3200 and the 3225 models, they are small, work well and are pretty affordable now. A great buy if you can get one. I highly recommend it.Read full review
I love the user friendly application. My wife is not tech savy and she even got the hang of it right out the box. I just had to explain it once! The POI's are almost all up-to-date and seem to be in the right spot. It gets you close to where your going, sometimes it doesn't count for the parking lot. I think there should be an option to change the voice. The program that comes with it to add POIs is very hard to use and I'm still working on it. All and all I think this is a great system for just getting around. If you need more like traffic service, or bluetooth you'll have to go to the 3250. The 3.5 screen is really nice to look at and is big enough to display everything you need. My wife though this was another dumb toy for me. She says we need another on for both cars now. She loves it even more than I do.Read full review
