This processor is 9 year old technology but I had a system I needed to pass off to a child who didnt have great processing requirements and I was able to upgrade a Pentium 4 3ghz single core processor with this one, and the performance increase is more then just adding a second core, more on die memory and faster frontside bus was night and day better then the processor I was previously using, and gave an old system a few more years of life. I wont list the price as these things are old and various sellers are selling for various prices. if you have a socket 775 motherboard and need a machine to do websurfing and old 2012 and less gaming on, consider one of these its much cheaper then some of the new stuff out there.

This is a very fast socket 775 processor. The 6M cashe really improves the speed of most systems. Make sure your mother board is able to run at 1333 MHZ FSB. The price has realy come down on these chips... a bargin at <$100.
I found from my research that this to be the best value upgrade over my old E4200. But I didn't see much actual improvement in performance. My 800MHz FSB mobo and DDR2-800 ram are bottle-necking the system. Obviously I have to upgrade those as well.

It was s great update over my overheating and powerwasting e6750. Im very happy with it, even after several years out in the market, the cpu is still very alive, testing it with win10. So sad i cant use hyperv with it.
Just do it! For a $6 ~ $8 upgrade, the 6M cache removed all the glitches while watching youtube & streaming videos.
