Great picture. Easy on the eyes . I like that the speaker connection is on the monitor so the power to the speakers is controlled by the pc on and off.

I bought the Dell Ultrasharp U2312HM because I wanted an IPS panel with 16:9 aspect ratio that would provide me with accurate colors and good gaming performance. The Dell U2312HM is the newer version of the Dell U2311, a very successful monitor, and this upgrade gives us a beautiful monitor that meets all my expectations. Neither of my two monitors had any flaws and with calibration, they came out looking very very close to eachother. It takes a trained eye to notice the difference. I don't like that the monitor's features were dumbed down a little, as it doesn't provide a lot of color options. I would've liked to see gamma or white point settings on the monitor, but all there is is RGB values, contrast, brightness, and sharpness. Nevertheless, Dell was able to create a GREAT monitor, especially for the price. Don't spend more than $240 on it, and you've found yourself a hell of a steal. IPS panels blow TN panels out of the water. I upgraded from 2 Dell SP2309w monitors and have never been happier. If you're on the ropes, get this or the larger U2412m. You will not be disappointed.Read full review
Recently purchased this for my dad who uses his laptop at home, so that he could turn it into a desktop basically and have a larger monitor with a wireless keyboard and mouse. He loves being able to see the bigger picture, very easy to plug into the laptop and go. Great picture and features. I had purchased a Dell 23" monitor similar to this one about a year ago and loved it, haven't had any problems so decided to go with Dell again.
I bought three of these monitors to use for gaming and photo editing. They perform very well in both applications. The screens are bright and feature vibrant colors. The viewing angles are far superior when compared to the average TN panel monitor. Obviously, this monitor is made for photo editing on a budget, but gaming is no problem for it either. ZERO input lag, and minimal ghosting. Yes, its not 120Hz but I'd rather have the more accurate colors. One thing though, unlike the higher end Ultrasharp monitors, these ARE NOT calibrated out of the box. I had to calibrate mine, but it was not hard and they look great after I did so.
All Pros (No Cons) - Amazing color. Colors are authentic. With deep black and true white. - Display of text is very sharp. Good to your eyes. - Fully adjustable monitor stand. The other 2 monitors are very short and the height is fixed. Why pay extra to buy additional monitor stand, if you can get this one? - The default setting are good enough. I barely did anything before feel satisfied with the image of the monitor. Not like HP and Viewsonic: both require significant amount of adjustment. - The IPS technology does give you consistent image qualify from all angles. Much better than TN monitor. - Nice build quality. Extra feature such as USB ports. - Price is right considering all above.
