Just make sure to pull plastic blocks/covers all the way out, they should include detailed instructions sheet inside the box on how to setup the cartridge for the first time. There is a protection plastic tape on the left hand side of the cartridge that should be pulled out all the way before start using this cartridge. This plastic seal is pinched all the way inside the cartridge only a portion is grab-able from the left hand side of the cartridge.

The toner cartridge was defective right out of the box. It prints blurred black/grey bars on the entire left side of the page. I put my old toner cartridge in and everything printed fine. I put the new toner cartridge in and it continued to print blurred black/grey bars on the entire left side of the page. I contacted the seller on 27 April and asked for a replacement; my request was ignored. I contacted them again on 1 May and their response was, "I'm sorry but we have a 30 day return policy, thanks." I went to their eBay page for this specific item and can't find anything clearly referring to a 30-day return policy. Seller will not replace it, even though the cartridge was defective straight out of the box. I purchased the cartridge because my installed cartridge was nearly empty (but it lasted almost 3 months). They should stand behind their product. This was money wasted and I will not be using this seller again (imagewarehouse1).Read full review

I've used both HP-branded and third party toner cartridges in our office environment. At $100 a pop, the HP-branded ones are way too expensive considering we replace toner all the time. So I've been using third party cartridges, which is basically a refilled/rebuilt. - HP uses a micro chip on the cartridges, make sure the aftermarket vendors have this. Otherwise you'll get annoying "unauthorized supply" warnings as well as having to clear the error on the printer for everything you print. - Look for an aftermarket cartridge with a brand new drum. If the drums aren't new, sometimes you get weird streaks. Thats it! Happy Printing!
Product was advertised as out of date, but I thought "how does a dry toner cartridge go out of date".It shipped fast and as expected it works perfect.Ran 300 copies so far with no problems.Very pleased

Only thing I notice is some of the letters are clipped on shipping labels.
