I bought these because forever, I had Harmon Kardon desktop speaker system with a woofer below my desk. I bought them twice over a dozen years. But they had tons of static, and never really sounded that well because I had to put them on the floor because of my desk. So I tanked them. These Creative speakers are so much nicer, without the woofer on the floor and with great sound. Clear for voice, nice for music, I even watch an occasional movie now on my computer. I don't have to worry about the woofer offending my neighbor at nice. Nice balance, clear, inexpensive.

Back in 2012~2014 I designed and built an off-line 'XP' Box work station computer for my digital photography and writing needs and wished to include a decent pair of speakers. (The photo is my completed work-station with these speakers) I researched MANY powered speakers and initially was going to buy the smaller Gigaworks T-10 model but found a used pair of these on eBay in excellent condition. I figured the sound would be "decent" but I was surprised (actually DELIGHTED) by the sound-stage the pair of the T-20s projected and the near-audiophile quality of the sound. These 'powered' speakers have 14 watts RMS each and that is REAL power, not some pumped-up advertising specs! True, the lowest octave of bass frequencies is missing as it's impossible to achieve truly DEEP bass frequencies with 2.125" diameter 'woofers' but what is there is wonderfully clear and realistically-balanced sound from the yellow-fiberglass woofers and textile-dome tweeters with REAL power(the power supply "brick" is quite heavy) that works wonders for near-field listening (ie. sitting at your computer). One of the BEST purchases I've ever made here on eBay and Highly Recommended for what they are (decent, reasonable volume levels with a great sound-stage within a few feet of your computer)! An easy 5 STARS! Dan (atget26)Read full review

Wanted speakers that had what I call "weight" in their production of sound. I did not want a large set of speakers for my small office, just wanted some rich and musical reproduction. Read a bunch of reviews and decided on these. Well.................Awesome choice. Nice rich sounds and easy to listen too. Enough bass at all levels that it sounds like real music, and nice vocals and highs. I am not an audiophile, but these are not built for those kinda snobs. If you want a lot of great rich sound in a small package, then these impress every time you turn them on. Won't make for a concert, but in my 800 square foot office they are nearly overwhelming. Great set of speakers that are worth $100 but you won't pay that...

Honestly, I was amazed at the depth and quality of sound coming out of my computer on these speakers. We have an iPod in a living area hooked up to a Bose wave radio/player that we use all the time. I connected these new speakers to a PC in another room to see how they would sound. They sounded awesome. So I cranked up the volume to listen from the other room, and the sound is so much richer than the Bose that I'm thinking of sticking it in the basement. I plan to buy these again for my upstairs office. Great buy!

If you are looking for a 2.0 system without a subwoofer this is a great option. I have used these for over a decade and am very satisfied with them. I have owned many different types and brands of computer speakers.
