Immersive and easy to assemble π Currently using it in an approx. 150 sq ft. room and am glad to have not needlessly shelled out extra $ for the HT-S7800. If you need to drill holes at the bottom for wood screws (i.e. stand mounting), keep the hole about 1/2 an inch deep. Also, the receiver itself does not have Dolby Vision (DV) pass-through so if you want to enjoy DV content via Ultra HD Blu-Ray connect directly to the TV (assuming it supports DV, of course) and make sure you use the HDMI ARC port when connecting to the receiver. It also comes with color-coordinated speaker wires! Overall, thrilled with it thus far.

This system blew my expectations away! Incredible crisp emersive sound with a quality thump from the sub. Needed to pick up an extra 100ft spool of speaker wire to properly run the rear surround speakers. Much better than a high end sound bar for less$

Great sound for those not wanting to spend thousands on a home theater system.....this system is very easy to setup with plenty of dedicated HDMI ports and setting up the sound is really easy thanks to the supplied microphone !....oh ..and did I mention GREAT bass with the powered subwoofer!

I had bought, what I believe is the HT-S7800 a couple years back and absolutely love it. I had bought soundbars and other similar surround sound and it was just not what I wanted. So I bought the S7800 back then and have loved it ever since. I made the same mistake for my other room in the house, by buying things like a sound bar and other sound systems and they were just horrible. Or at least not what you really expect from a sound system. So, I knew I would not be satisfied until I bought one of these again. I decided with the HT-S5800 this time because it seemed a little more practical and was cheaper of course than the S7800. I could not be more happy with this system. It to me, seems just as good as the S7800 and just as amazing all around sound. What I love most is the top firing speakers on the front that really blow the sound to the full surround feel. Now it is great having two systems in my house that are awesome. Plus, with this system coming with a receiver, you can hardly beat the price. The set up was not too bad either. It had been about 4 or 5 years since I had set my other one up, so I was a little rusty doing so, but I was slow going and had to hang shelves in the back for the speakers, and run wire, and do a bit of splicing to make one speaker reach, and also had to buy a 50 foot spool to reach the back right, but my living room is pretty big. But with all the set up and taking my time, hanging the shelves, running the wire, and making sure everything was right, it did take me about 3 hours. If just doing a simple set up, probably could do it in less than 1. The only think I would like more, is bigger speakers for the back. I will probably at some point, either add a couple more to it, or replace the rear speakers with bigger ones. All around a great product.Read full review
