Let's face it. It's a duffle bag. It just so happens that I own a large pullman travel bag and wanted my duffle to match. If I were just buying a duffle bag and didn't need it to match I could have saveed a fortune buying a similar bag of a different brand. Don't get me wrong, Filson makees great quality bags, but are they worth the price? Not unless you're shopping for a Studio and want the serious rugged look of Filson and don't care how much you spend. These bags are for the seriously wealthy who like to pay a premium price to dress down.

I have a 24 hr waxed/tin cloth bag and this canvas duffel. They are both great quality, thick and well built/rugged. My wife hates the big brass zippers and stiff opening but I love the masculine rugged feel with elegant design. I hope the duffel looks as good with wear/age like the tin cloth bag does.

I’ve got this bag and the small one besides the Rucksack. If I’ve got a night to three the rucksack and small are both great as long as you pack efficiently. I roll up a days clothes and can pack 2 in the rucksack and 3 in the small bag. The middle size easily packs 4+ days or at least 3 winter weight sets and I’ve only used it for that or up to7 days if you can rewear a couple items. They are virtually indestructible so they will stand a lot of abuse whether it’s in the back of your truck or the belly of a plane. The biggest difference are the zippers. The only bag I’ve never had trouble with before this was an army duffel because they don’t have zippers. This is the only bag that I’ve not had the zipper destroyed or rip out at the seam. Not fancy but simple and extremely durable. They are expensive but 10 years ago I was replacing a bag every 2 years. Not anymore. If you travel this is the way to go. Read full review
