Takes clear sharp and colorful photos. Is a bit heavy but not too heavy. A lens of this quality is going to have some weight. Now if the SDM motor on the autofocus does not fail I'm good to go. These early model Pentax SDM focus motors are prone to fail. If it does I still have a very good lens, just manual focus.

Since 1980, I have used Pentax equipment starting with the LX Professional Film Camera and own several other "Star" lenses. This DA* 60-250mm f4 is as good as most prime focus lenses and this copy is like new as advertised. I am very satisfied and would order from you again.

This lens has been reviewed by many. The obvious, its a nice size and weight. The images are superb. As with any zoom lens it needs to be used properly. This lens will produce beautiful, stunning images. I highly recommend this lens.

Arrived quickly and in good shape! It is a beautiful lens - but heavy! Good thing you can attach it to tripod! So far takes great pictures although since we are in winter, not as much to take pics of. Will definitely use in spring and fall on trips to mountains.

I bought this lens "as is for parts". Took a chance on being able to repair it. Was able to get a couple for parts Pentax F lens. Removed the contacts and springs from them and the mount from one. Put the DA* 60-250 back together using these parts and it worked like a champ! I then Removed the SDM contacts and bypassed the dead SDM motor and the screw drive started working in Live view mode. A DA* 60-250 for about $300.00 is hard to beat.
