I bought this lens as a backup for my more expensive Zeiss and Pentax lenses, but since I have seen how good it is in practice, I find I will be using it more and more. I have two vintage Pentax cameras and two modern Canon digital and film cameras. The lens will work with all of them, and it does a great job with my Canon DSLR (with a proper adapter). I like the way it produces a warmer tone to the pictures than my much more expensive Canon lenses. It give me a nice balance to choices for shooting nature scenes and animals.

This has become my mainstay standard lens. Just make sure you get an m42 SX adapter or you will not be able to focus to infinity.

It won't fit on most 42mm adapters because the aperture ring has a lip that makes contact with the adapter but it is sharp and well made.
