Imaginationstechniken sind ein wichtiger Bestandteil der Kognitiven Verhaltenstherapie, aber auch der Schematherapie und anderer neuer verhaltenstherapeutischer Verfahren. Die drei Autoren stellen die Grundlagen und die fortgeschrittene Arbeit mit Imaginationstechniken vor. Inhalte sind u. a. eine Einführung, die Beschreibung der Technik, Vorbereitung der Imagination, Arbeit mit Erinnerungen, Alpträumen und Metaphern, negative Bilder verändern, positive Bilder erzeugen sowie Belege für die Wirksamkeit der Imaginationstechniken. Viele Fallbeispiele von bekannten Psychotherapeuten machen die Umsetzung der Imaginationstechniken in die Praxis anschaulich.
