This is my first smart phone, so do not expect any comparisons to other models. What I did prior to buying the Nexus was checking all kinds of test reports. What was most helpful were the available you tube videos about the hands on. The only point I did not like from the very beginning is the missing slot for an additional micro SD card for more storage. What really confinced me to buy the Nexus are the following points: 1) it has the the perfect screen size for easily typing emails without striking wrong letters all the time. However it is small enough to carry it in your pocket, in contrast to the Galaxy Note, plus you can reach any spot on the screen with one hand (my thumb). Try this on the Galaxy Notes and you will fail. 2) the display resolution is just amazing......just test it yourself!!! 3) the powerful dual core processor leads to the fact that you never have any trouble running all kinds of applications. I never observed any delayed reactions or "hanging" videos. 4) You have a perfect control over the data transfers and running apps. Termination of apps can be done by just swiping them out of the multi task screen. 5) The handling (since it is my first smartphone) with the Android 4 is so easy and intuitive while combined with nice optical effects e.g. when swiping from one app screen to the next. Maybe another negative point is the low battery performance. Even when minding energy managment you will have to recharge each day. I would appreciate a higer battery capacity. But they are available on the market and I can live with recharging each day. To conclude if you are looking for a stylish, easy to handle and powerful smartphone with the right size, here you go with the Galaxy Nexus!!!Read full review
I was looking for a new Android Smartphone and I was thinking about the Galaxy SII, the Galaxy Notes and this Galaxy Nexus. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Comparing the Nexus with the other two phones was not possible as the later two ship with Android 2.3.6, while the Nexus has the Android 4.0.2 on board and it is not possible to tell if Android 4 will be available anywhere in the future for the SII. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . So I still had to make up my mind between the Notes and the Nexus. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . After I heard that you would void your phone by adding a custom rom and that Android 4 is only shiped in Q2 for the Notes, I bought the Nexus phone. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . And ... its awesome. Everything is so cool. Meanwhile I added a custom rom and a new Kernel, rooted the phone and .... . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . As this is supposed to be about the Nexus I am not going into more detail of the OS. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . The Nexus has a perfect screensize, shows webpages at an awesome speed and comes with 16GB fix installed SD card. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . You cannot add another SD card, but as I am only listening to books and not tons of music I get along with it really good. So far I have about 5GB used up, 120 Apps installed (including he bloatware products being preinstalled). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . To wrap it up: This was the best guy I did in a long time. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Oh - the backdraw: Battery . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
