Great lawnmower with decent power, managed to cut all the small lawns around the house without a recharge, 3 small lawns in all.Already had batteries for my drill so price was reasonable. However it is heavier than I expected but has a wider cutting deck than my previous mower, so less passes. If it was as light as my old Qualcast cordless mower I would have given it a full 5 stars, but as a fairly strong lady gardener I found it harder to manoeuvre because of its weight. The Qualcast was like using a vacuum cleaner and I would just throw it around until the starter button broke. So I think the Makita is more robust and the starter bar is much better than a small handle at the side. However, even my husband remarked on the weight, but he has a ride-on for the main garden and doesn’t push usually!! Anyway I hope this helps and if it is as reliable as the Makita power tools which I love, then this is a brilliant buy, albeit weighty! Happy Mowing!Read full review

I brought this to replace my petrol one. It's okay but it's not as strong as my petrol one. Build quality is a bit flimsy, usually makita products are very good but as for this I'm not sure it will cope with the first cut of the season. Although if you have a small lawn it will probably be okay

Just the job to cut around the awkward bits of grass like rockeries and dead ends. Very easy to move around and store. Bought to supplement main heavy petrol mower. Build quality seems plasticky so I don't know how long it will last. The grass box is small, but so is the machine! Battery life is OK with 2 X 4ah batteries with plenty of warning that they are getting low on charge. Height adjustment is easy.

This lawnmower was to replace my old petrol one. I'm absolutely stoked with it so far. I have loads of makita stuff so thought thets keep things makita because of their well earned good reputation. Its lovely & light to carry , cuts the grass & well easy to push around. So nice not pulling the starter cord on my old petrol one like a thousand times together it going, fuelling it, oil etc. I guess I have a average lawn area & it only uses 25 % of the two batteries from start to finish. Lovin this machine 🙂

Really pleased with this mower and how usable it is. We like: not dragging a lead around, how easy it is compared to a petrol one that hasn't been started over the winter, how easy the grassbox is to use, not found the issues other reviewers have. It only uses one bar of my 5amp batteries on our 8x12 lawn. Build quality seems good. No major snags but a couple of niggles: the handle doesnt go low enough to mow under the trampoline. Its quite heavy and more difficult to manouvre than my hover mower and it does struggle with long grass but, honestly, its so easy to use theres no excuse for the grass to ever get long. I'm pleased with it and am going to get one of the cordless makita line trimmers next.
