If you want an entry level DSLR at a reasonable price then this is for you....simple to use ......reasonably priced. Go for the A390 i got the 290 in error really, it doesnt have live view, which can come in handy...I now have both, bought the A390 on e bay ar a good price......well pleased.
For the price this is an excellent camera. It is easy to use , has enough variety of modes to be creative and satisfy most amateur photographers and some professional work. Image quality is excellent. The motor drives for lense and stabilisers are situated in the body of the camera which makes lenses much cheaper to buy plus it will use the old Minolta Dynax lenses with full functionality. I am extremely pleased with this SLR camera and I am sure it will be robust enough to last me some time.
