This book only covers Lee's life upto his first appearance on stage. What there is is surprisingly well written and poignant - possibly exaggerated in places for effect but if these are his own words then he is a lot more "literate/educated" (despite his problems at school) than his stage persona may suggest. Although retired from public life he could be an ideal subject for "Who Do You Think You Are?" and could even make a good playwright/scriptwriter - this book could easily be dramatised for TV. Published in 2011, I'm surprised he hasn't already written an autobiographical sequel.

I bought this product as I'm a big fan of Lee Evans and was thrilled to find out he'd released a book, and boy am I glad I did buy it! I was expecting it to be written like most other comedians seem to nowadays - pretty much like a skit in book form that has you laughing all the way through (which can get a bit tiresome and feel like the stories are made up), but I was pleasantly surprised to find it's more down to earth than I expected, which is good because it means the funny anecdotes make you laugh harder while the sad ones really hit you, and I just really like the way he tells the stories in general. Overall a lot better quality than I was anticipating and very informative. Would definitely recommend to anyone who's ever laughed at any of his jokes!
Beautifully written and once i had started it i couldnt put it down. One of my favourite comedians of all time, i know once i have reached the end i will start again, very very good read. A must for all lee evans fans.
