Not sure if the stitch ripper is faulty or not, the metal tang of the stitch ripper moves in and out of the handle, giving either a one or two inch tang, I'm not sure if it is supposed to do this or not. Other than that, the ergonic shape is really comfortable (and I have arthritis in my hands and wrists) you can use it short or longer with the safety cap pressed on the handle. The cutting blade is indeed very sharp and cuts through even thick thread with ease.

Excellent product. Need small blade but usually too small to manage so these large handles are just right. Love it.
