A rarity, a very well done Television Movie. Within the confines of the restrictions of the small screen this does a very good job of telling a good story. I've never read the source material , but I understand certain changes have been made , but none that appear detrimental to the overall story. It starts slowly, but that lays the foundation of a cracking good yarn. Veteran British actor James Mason steals the show, but the rest of the cast are of a high quality. This also teaches you to lock your windows and close the curtains on foggy autumn nights !!.

I am afraid i was only seventeen when i first watched this film.I was on the edge of my seat,so intense,scared stiff.It is still a great film,with great characters,and actors,i am not scared now though.In fact i watch horror movies on the tv because they make me laugh more then scaring me.It is about time someone brought out a really lifelike movie to really make my hair stand on end.I remember,exactly what happened in this film,but this time i just enjoyed it.It will always be an iconic film.
