I have a battery powered cordless vacuum and also a cylinder but this Shark beats them. I thought my stairs were clean until I saw how much dust the Shark lifted from the carpet. Lots of good features especially the lift off part which comes with a shoulder strap to make it easier to carry around the house. Comes with instruction book, extension tube, brush and crevices tool and a device which holds a pad to clean laminate floors. Very long electric cable. Easy to use and empty once you get used to all the buttons. Excellent buy and recommended.

This is by far the best vacuum I have had. I live in a townhouse and would be exhausted trying to vacuum all the floors with previous vacuum, all well known brands. It is so easy and quick to clean stairs and rooms and the suction is really powerful, also super easy to empty and wash the filters

The suction is fantastic. My carpets look great. It's easy to work and very light. Hoovered out my car also with the lift off part. Very impressed. Would definately recommend this vacuum cleaner. Can use it on hard floors too. I have a dog and a cat and it definitely lifts the hairs. Quick delivery.

I like the NV340UKT very much. One or two minor issues, but not enough to mark it down, The suction is very powerful which is great for carpets and for dusting with the tools, but can make it hard to push on thick carpet or against the pile. Loose rugs and runner edges can get sucked up in upright mode, and it is better to use the attachments for those. The suction strength can be reduced slightly if needed by rotating a vent collar on the upright suction pipe. As with other vacuums, the upright unit can overbalance if you stretch the hose too far when using tools with the "lift-away" unit still attached to the base. "Lift-away" mode is extremely versatile for stairs, cars and other awkward jobs. I also like the integral headlights which remind me of "vintage" vacuums and help to avoid dropped earring backs visiting the dust container. Overall a good purchase, well designed, versatile and powerful.Read full review

4 years ago I bought a Dyson. I so wish I had bought a Shark, then instead. I was excited to get this Shark (sad, I know!) and I wasn’t disappointed. It picks up like a dream and made me realise just how dismally my Dyson was performing when I saw how much it picked up. I’ve not long had my carpets professionally cleaned as well and since using this Shark, they’ve stayed lovely. It deals effortlessly with pet hair (cat & dog) and is so light and easy to operate. I worked out how to use it in no time and the flex is impressively long. Less unplugging to reach other areas. I have a 4-bed house with 3 large reception rooms and it tackles them all with ease going smoothly from carpet to wood floor. It does need emptying quite often as the dust bin is quite small, but I can live with this when it does such an exceptional job. I will never look back now and the Dyson I bought 4 years ago which should have still been going strong, is now relegated to the garage. I’d say I’d use it on m car but it’s no good at that job. If you buy a Shark you won’t regret it. I now recommend them to anyone asking about which vacuum to purchase.Read full review
