Excellent Traditional Tyre Pressure Guage
A well made pressure gauge with quite a vintage look, which I prefer over the modern digital types. An added bonus to this is that batteries are not required! Overall accuracy seems good when I have made comparisons with other guages. The angled head which fits on the tyre valve gives more than adequate access. The guage can be removed once the pressure has been taken for easy reading and is quickly reset by pressing the pressure released button. The plastic carry case is also a nice touch. Poor quality
The pressure dial starts to revert back/return to “zero” setting as soon as you take the unit off the tyre valve. So unless you are quick, difficult to confirm the reading (before dial starts to return to “zero”.......not a great feature. I have another similar device where the dial remains in place (indicating the pressure) until you press the pressure release valve. As the unit sent me has a pressure release valve, I can only assume it is faulty (see above). Accurate pressure
A tidy little piece of kit, well made and simple to use, the dial face is easy to read and I have no problems to report. The pressure release valve ensures the integrity of the unit - don't forget to use it after testing tyres . I have tested the Racex unit against electronic units costing far more and it appears to be very accurate, the storage box enables the unit to be carried safely in a pocket and I keep spare valve cores and caps in the handy recesses in the case. It does what it should and should, with care, last for years . This is a good bit of kit and essential for bikers as we need to have tyres at correct pressures and cannot afford to trust unmaintained forecourt pumps. Buy one, keep it with you, or on your vehicle and use the thing - you won't regret the purchase. Highly ... I read all the reviews on this gauge before buying , they’re all good and quite rightly so. This gauge is well engineered and very accurate. It comes in its own plastic casing and is exceptional value for money. Some reviews said the plastic casing was difficult to open, I found that if you apply light pressure to the bottom part below the catch whilst lifting the clear upper part up it open easily. Compared to other types that I have seen and inspected in car stores the quality is much superior and more to the point the dial is far easier read.
Since using this pressure gauge I have found that my car tyres are now at correct pressures resulting in a better and no doubt safer drive. Previous pressures had been too low resulting in tyre wear to both inner and outer tyre edges. This gauge is very quick and easy to use, highly recommended.
