I was pleased with the sound quality, especially through Bluetooth and aux. The DAB stations were still good but they don't play with a high bitrate which is no fault of this sound system. Now to think a radio of this size to be powered by a Nokia style BL5C battery to be this powerful is incredible, volume can go quite loud and fills the room with a clear sound. Batteries are cheap to buy as backups. Overall great design with a bit of the past and present, I would recommend this to anyone looking for a radio for its practicality and portability. One negative is it doesn't show battery level but the light will change to red when it is low on power.

Nice looking radio & great price... but there is a reason for this! Controls are impossible to use easily as kind of 'touch' buttons that mean you whizz past the station you want & if you do manage to land on the right one by the time you manage to touch 'select' it's gone again! I do not recommend this radio unless you have the patience of a saint.....

I bought one of these during a sale for £20. Was tempted to get myself one, but thought I'd hold off. As mums one arrived, I played around with it, and it was fairly straight forward to use. I can see it being a bit of a pain for people who aren't quick to new techy stuff, but for me it was pretty straight forward. Turned it on, and it tracked all the radio stations in the area, and one press would find the next station in the list, followed by the accept (enter button). Setting up preset stations (quick list) was a little bit confusing to work out without the manual, but found how to sort that after. So far, I've only used it for an hour+ listening time, as I usually turn it on when cooking, or washing up etc. As it's our kitchen radio, but I am really tempted to buy one for the days when I am out skateboarding, rocking climbing etc. Will test the unit we got, if it's any good for those needs, I will for sure grab another one. Signal is great for where I live in SE London. Volume range I've not had a test as the garden is only small. Not tested the blue tooth or hands free calling feature either. I paid £20 for the first unit, so I am over the moon with price to quality. As it's RRP is around £50-75, I wouldn't pick one up for that cost (but that's due to not being a daily radio listener myself).Read full review

This radio is stylish, looks great in white and the sound quality is top notch , has a rechargeable battery so is great for taking into the garden without messing about with extension leads. My son loves it too for when he's training in the garage. It's a quality item at a bargain price .

Not bad sound, but hopeless design on the controls. You’d never use this as a Bluetooth speaker because the sound isn’t up to it. I bought it as a clock radio and it’s hopeless. Volume control is all or nothing at the low end, with lots of hiss. Alarm and snooze, even power on/off ridiculously complex. Oh dear.
