It's all about the sound; no money is spent on anything other than playing a record well. No speed changer button, no return of the arm after the record's finished, so all the money goes into the important bits, the needle, the arm and the platter.

I reached the heady of 50 and thus was a present to myself. Not owned a turntable since early 90's. I didn't want to spend a lot but wanted great hifi sound and after reading reviews went for this. I am disappointed. It looks nice in white and the sound is super but it's light weight and opening the lid needs hands to stop you lifting the front of the player off the surface. The arm is lifted and dropped by a flimsy up n down system which sticks and doesn't work properly. As mentioned by other uses I getting racked off the band keeps coming off and it's fiddly to reattach. It's the weight thing that's disappointed not sturdy enough for me ...but I'm sure I will be come accustomed to the points I've raised.

Great sounding, easy to use. One minor issue, the PSU causes a hum so will replace with a better one
