GOOD TOOL, BUT NOT PERFECT
I USED THIS SAT NAV FOR A ROAD TRIP FROM CORNWALL TO SOUTHERN SPAIN VIA DOVER AND FRANCE THEN BACK AGAIN (3700 MILES).WHEN DRIVING THROUGH PARIS IT KEPT TURNING ITSELF OFF.IT COULD NOT COPE WITH ROAD SYSTEM THEN TRIED TO TAKE ME BACK TO CENTRE WHEN I GOT THE OTHER SIDE OF CITY.THEN IN SPAIN TOOK ME INTO VALENCIA CITY, IT DID NOT KEEP ME ON MOTORWAY.THE REST OF THE TIME IT WORKED FINE. SAT NAVS ARE A GOOD TOOL BUT WILL NEVER REPLACE A GOOD ROAD ATLAS.

Very good day nav loads of feature that Are very useful ,easy to use and find what you Need,only downside map upgrades are not cheap And then some recent improved roads are not Featured, but overall good

not perfect but practical
much better than the cheaper garmin stolen from me by my Daughter. usual problem with visibility in strong sunlight. my touch screen does not react to pressure very well for the bluetooth icon. Normal problem with my house being identified as another house 1/4 mile away on other side of road.REALLY ANNOYING especially for the owner having tradesmen unloading their gear in their drive instead of mine. Google maps please note . Apart from these annoying faults gets you where you want to go not always in the commonsense way but gets you there.

Brilliant product, would highly recommend.
I bought the 1490T as a birthday present for my partner as the one he had was quite old and outdated and couldn't be upgraded. We are both very pleased with the performance of it and the clarity of the screen. The only bad thing about it was that it is a 2010/11 model with a free upgrade for the maps which I used but found that the maps weren't any more up to date and some of the maps weren't entirely accurate, but this product is still very usable and we are quite happy with it. The price I paid was the cheapest for this product and it is excellent value.

Best ever sat-nav.
Bought because my old sat-nav let me down. I am very pleased with the Garmin, it is so easy to use and it connects with my mobile phone so I don't need an earpiece. The instructions are clear and given in time for manoeuvres. Comparing this to others makes me very glad I chose a Garmin Nuvi 1490T.
