The Cleveland CG12 has a very soft feel & is easy to use for touch distances in the 40-75 yard range. The dark non-glare finish is easy on the eyes. They are have a reasonable amount of spin without producing too much spin. I've used Cleveland wedges forever & these seem to be the best yet. I've owned the 588 models & the 900 series. The 54* & 58* are the ones I purchased. These lofts are very good for my game, 9.6 handicap. I do highly recommend these clubs. The only reason that I did not rate them excellent is that it is just too soon to tell at this point, 45 days into them.
Nice symetrical head. The black finish on the face wears off pretty quickly with sand shots. Shafts are pretty soft, much softer than an S300, but that may be a good thing since it allows for softer shots around the green without sacrificing feel as one would with a stronger shaft such as an S300. From the fairway, one should not try to muscle them too hard because, with the softer shafts, they are a little harder to control. I would prefer to have more bounce on the bottoms. Mine have two dots, but I would prefer three, at least with the 58 degree which I generall use from the sand. Despite the above, I would buy them again.
The good news is that you can stick a golf ball and it will stop quickly. The bad news is that the metal is soft and the grooves wear quickly so you need to sharpen them every few weeks. For most golfers these wedges are better than their game.

Ok. So, first of all, I am not a pro golfer. What I am, is a person that thinks golf in my spare time. I practice more than I play. And short game is my thing. Seeing the way the ball flies off the club is my thing. I like the look so much that I found a set of CG1 irons to match the look of the CG12 wedges. As compared to others: ok so, my first wedge was a Cleveland Classic 88 model. Used it twenty years before it was stolen. I then went to the CG12 and have stayed with it. I did try a Vokey Titliest. Not my fav. So, now I have fitted from 3 to wedges. Stiff shaft to the pitching wedge, and wedge flex for the 52* , 56*, and 58*. This is the best I have ever hit the ball consistently with all my clubs in my life. The CG12 wedges, in my opinion, are the sweetest look for me and my game. This is what its all about...finding the right set for your confidence, and ultimately, finding your game, whatever it is. As for me, the Cleveland CG12 Wedges feel the best in my hands. But then again, this is just my opinion. Positive thoughts help. Just saying. Later.Read full review
You want one of the best wedges out there? At a great price? Cleveland's CG 12 has the same "Zip Grooves" as it's newer (and pricier) cousins the CG 15 and CG 16, the only difference being the laser-ed in micro grooves added to the later models. For most of us, it will make little difference, you will still be getting a much sought after wedge at a lower price than the CG 15 or CG 16. Cleveland has been the leader in wedges for many years and they are not being caught anytime soon. FYI, these wedges will become illegal (as will many others) in 2024 for any tournament play, it is already illegal on the professional tours. The PGA actually was targeting these deep, square grooves in making their rules change, but they are 'grandfathered' in for a number of years for us amateurs. Having said that, remember that they are no longer being made and getting your hands on a set of these beauties should be at the top of any serious golfer's list of things to do. Get one, a couple, or if you are like me three! JimboRead full review
