As an avid golfer who lives about 70 miles from the big name golf stores, I became interested in the ease of using Ebay. Also, I am left handed and Ebay provided me more options and choices in clubs that I would find in the stores. I knew the TaylorMade irons I wanted had not changed in looks for a number of years (except changing the shaft to a lighter weight). I also knew the price for a new set from a number of retailors. When, a set became available ( although not new) I was comfortable in purchasing it). The price was right and having used TaylorMade clubs in the past and having gone to Demo days they sponsor to test their products I never had a doubt I wouldn't be satisfied.
TaylorMade RAC OS Irons are a great option for someone looking to upgrade from a knockoff set or are new to the game and on a budget. From a forgiveness, distance, and feel standpoint they are solid performers and given the fact you can get the complete iron set used for under $100 they should seriously be considered.

I bought these Taylor Made OS 2 , 3- pw because I wanted to try something a little more forgiving than my older TM 320s and wasn't mentally or financially ready to commit to the whole new club buying process yet. Have been happy with most TM products and there seemed to be a lot availabe on ebay. Was able to see about what would win a bid. Bought these for $200 on ebay in good condition and I am pleased with the decision. I hit them straighter and better and hit far more greens with mid to high irons, especially 7 iron and up which is what I wanted. (I am a 14 handicap who normally scores somewhere in the 80s) I am quite happy with the clubs. I did a bit of research on line beforehand, reading reviews both good and bad and also hit some previous generation OS irons from my friend's set. They are long and straight and high and pretty consistent on distance. Feedback is a little less than with my old clubs but you still know if you hit it well or missed it a bit. They are confidence inspiring even from the rough. I do not carry the 3 iron but the 4 iron is pretty easy to hit and I now sometimes carry it instead of my 4 hybrid. I have hit the 3 iron at the driving range and even the 3 iron is easier to hit than other sets but I am not ready to go back to that long of an iron. One note is they are lofted stronger than my old set and the PW with this set is more like a 9 iron so you may have to readjust your club selection. You can get the lofts and specs off the TM web site. I bought a lower lofted gap wedge (50 degrees) to keep the gap between the PW and my gap wedge at 5 degrees. The TM OS2 look pretty good for a forgiving cavity back and have a fairly clean design. Frankly I think the original OS had an even cleaner design but I wanted to buy something newer and I think these came out in 2005. I have the standard lightweight steel shafts in regular flex which seem nicely mated to the clubs. I would have happily bought the True Temper dynamic gold regular flex shafts as well but this is what the bid I won came with and they are fine for me. I am in my late 50s and my driver club head speed tests out just in the low nineties. I still prefer steel shafts in my irons. The grips are the original TM rubber which are OK but will probably be replaced next season due to wear. These OS2 do make it harder to hit deliberate draws or fades. They want to go straight if you put even a decent swing on them. Although I occasionally have to or want to work the ball a little I can live with better shots and less workabilty. It is also more difficult to hit low knockdown shots. They are designed with a lower center of gravity to hit the ball high. I hit a high ball anyway but again I do not see this as much of a problem unless you are more highly skilled or play where you always need that kind of shot. I think most players will like them out of the rough as the low center of gravity helps get the shot up quickly. I do not use the A wedge or S wedge that matches the set as I already had several TM RAC chrome wedges I bought to use with my old set. I am quite pleased with the clubs and would recommend them to anyone from a 10 handicap on up.Read full review
I got the 3-PW + SW set of Regular steel shaft clubs. Everything arrived in order and excellent condition despite being shipped from US to Singapore. I really liked the ultralight steel shaft (90gms) that is almost comparable to graphite's weight. I get the best of accuracy of steel shaft + the lightweight feel of graphite, perfect for intermediate beginners. It's a lot easier to hit than the RAC OS1 that I tried. I have 99% straight shots from iron 6-9. I'm still working on my 3 & 4 to correct my swing flaws. On top of that, it has an excellent launch angle (I think it's mid-high) that lauches the ball just right. I've tried the BB Fusion and the launch angle for some of the irons are just too high. These are very forgiving for beginners like me, but they are not the most forgiving clubs in the market - if you want that, go for RAC CGB, BB Fusion or Ping G5. I'd rather correct my swing than having a permanent swing flaw that needs an ultra forgiving iron to correct everytime. I have the same feeling about offset drivers - it makes your swing flaw permanent. I was choosing between a clone set (at less than 1/2 the price), and I'm glad I chose the real thing, cos my friend's clone set didn't feel as good, have the same accuracy or have as great a build as these!Read full review
These 2005 TaylorMade oversize RAC irons are very well made irons, very forgiving, easy to hit and look good in your bag. Combined with TaylorMade Driver R7 and Woods, there seem to be guarantees that you will lower your score tremendously. Well balanced, heavy on the bottom and two degrees upright, make it easier to just hit the balls without having to try scooping the balls out from the lay up. The best part is that you don't have to upgrade nor compete with newer models of other brands, since these irons are a sure things and these irons will always look good in the years ahead, never get out of style. In addition, you get your money's worth and you get your scores lowered instantly. They are like a super immediate cure to your constant slices, fumbles and hooks. With 7 iron alone, I got an extra 10 to 15 yards more that my other brands - 7 irons. Very happy and I cannot wait to use these on my next competitive games in weeks to come. So get yours and you will see the difference! Don't take my words for it, take a demo hits from your local golf shop who still stock them and see for yourself what I am writing about...Read full review
