Several years later, Rankin-Bass' animated television special serves as a follow-up to their previous theatrical hit "Mad Monster Party". I recall this was a rarely seen episode of "The Saturday Superstar Movie" back in 1973 and it was a joy to be able to finally see it again, even if the early Japanese animation appears a bit dated by today's standards. (Don't be put off by the cover, the cleaned-up line art does not do this program justice.) This will also serve as eXcellent wholesome Halloween fare for your children in addition to being a nostalgia "blast from the past" for you. So get yourself a box of FrankenBerry or Count Chocula, sit back & enjoy!
Rare, classic Rankin Bass. Overlooked gem, crazy prequel to Mad, Mad, Mad Monster Party.
