I bought the G watch knowing its one limitation: it doesn't have a speaker. This means that you can't make calls on it or get sound feedback. However It is still getting software updates. The latest is from february 2016. Visibility: I need reading glasses but i can see this watch just fine. It supports multiple sizes of alert notifications. Watch faces: Not only are there a dozer or so stock ones, there are literally hundreds of faces available from the facer app with many being free. XDA also has some custom ones. Google: The watch is always listening when the screen is awake for "ok google" and you can do anything you can do from your phone. Card support (ala Google Now) is probably better than it is on your phone. I can scroll through Pandora giving ratings, adjusting volume etc. when my phone is playing through bluetooth. I can also respond with voice with facebook messenger. Voice transcription is second-to-none. You can also use a couple of plug-ins it comes with to show navigation directions on the watch itself. Phone calls: The watch can initiate and answer calls, showing you a picture of who is calling. Don't forget you still need your phone for the sound or a bluetooth speaker. Other apps: the usual suspects are here including world-clock and a few you don't expect such as compass. Yes it has a built-in compass. You can also control many music apps and install 3rd party apps to control others. Notably missing is a calculator but frankly Google Now makes it unnecessary. Appearance: It's simple in appearance and features no buttons and a plain black band. However unlike some other options such as Sony's mn2, it takes a standard watch band. Fitness and sleep tracking: It works with Google Fit among others and can be used as a sleep tracker as long as you charge it before going to bed. Charging and battery life: I put it on the charger every 3 days for about an hour. It's crazy. Software optimizations have added about 50% to the battery since the last update. Value: At the time of purchase, i purchased mine used for $79 with an extra charger. I considered getting a cheaper model that wasn't android but i'm glad i spent the difference. For example i have things i do at work that need to run a minimum time and i simply tell the watch to set a timer for 5 minutes. easy-peasy. Time, text-messaging, weather, etc. Hopefully someone makes a pokemon go plugin to vibrate your wrist! lol. The low-down: If there's an app that doesn't play well with it, it's the app's fault. I'm looking at you Facebook with your "open on phone" button. I have Alexa on my wrist thanks to 3rd party apps and this watch controls my smart home.Read full review

Looks and feels great, and has excellent functionality along with my LG phone. I know that most smart watches are not that functional with regard to using many applications and such, but this watch seems to do just about everything I want to do on a screen that size. Great preview of my notifications, and makes it so that I am able to reply to texts or do a search without taking my phone out of my pocket. One thing that I really like is the calendar function; having it on my wrist is much more of a reminder than on my phone for some reason.

I am really enjoying this watch! Works great with my Android phone(s). Nice basic black watch that works with both formal and casual wear. My only oversight is that this watch does not have a heart rate monitor, but for the price I will continue to use this one for some time.

This is a great smart watch for anyone who doesn't want to dish out the $150+ for a newer design of similar capability. Definitely not a stripped-down version like the Pebble watches and not tied to Samsung-specific apps like Samsung. It's easy to set up and mine lasts for three full days between charges. Like any of these, however, be careful of loading power-sucking apps: I downloaded a watch-face app that routinely killed the charge in four hours or less. Deleted the app and 3+ days is normal.

Really nice watch. Not too big for a very small arm. Texts and all notifications coming through well. Battery lasts a couple of days plus. Very comfortable and the black screen and band do not look bad. I am used to wearing a white or gold watch so this was quite a change. I tried the cheaper watches first and really like this one better. Very happy with my purchase.
