My wife grew up on this stuff from Mexico. Her uncle was born there and she went to visit often. They always brought back Mexican vanilla and used it all year long to cook with. This product is just like what she had back then. She still cooks a lot and says that what you can buy locally is not even close to as good as this product. I should have listened to the other warnings that people posted. I just figured "how different can vanilla be? Even imitation vanilla smells like vanilla " . Well this vanilla smells funny. Even the cheapest imitation smells better. I've heard that some brands of Mexican vanilla are good . But now I'm afraid to try any others . I don't have that kind of money to waste.

I have been using Danncy's pure clear vanilla for so many years cannot count. If you use this vanilla in your cookies and cakes it will taste like no one else's. It is better than bakery style vanilla. It leaves no color to your white frostings so they stay super white. Lasts on the shelf for a long long time. I'm pretty sure I've gone through gallons.
