This is a great "2-pole" transfer switch (does not switch the neutral). It is a SUPER easy install if you are qualified and used to working with electrical wiring. My only complaint is that the receptacle cover is almost impossible to get on once you have mounted it, but also impossible to tighten to the wall once the cover is on. Total design flaw. Getting it mounted tightly/flush took me longer than wiring the entire job. The box should either include washers/spacer plate, or be built to allow the gap at the top for the cover plate to slide over. But really, a minor inconvenience. All in all, a SOLID device for use with a floating-neutral generator. (Yes, you probably wanna check that!)

This is exactly what I needed. I can run my generator outside during a power outage and put power to the circuits carrying my refrigerator, freezer, etc. The exhaust fumes stay outside, the doors stay completely closed and my refrigerator and freezer don't defrost during a power outage. The unit came already wired so that helped a lot. The leads were long enough to reach all of my breakers so no additional wire was needed there. The instructions were plainly written and easy to follow. A little electrical background is needed to do this yourself though.

Great product best on the market I ordered the Reliance 31406crk and it works great, I would recommend upgrading to the Reliance model 31410 because it has 4 extra switches 1 more Double Pole switch and 4 extra Single Pole switches. I would highly recommend these Pro Tran switches they are made strong and built to last they also come with a 5 year warranty. Thanks Mike

There is no question that this item is quality if you only want 6 circuits (or 5 during a blackout). Although is it rated for exterior wet conditions, I'd make sure the rain or snow can not get to the box. There is some variation regarding price, so shop around!

Easy to install, but I'm an electrician. If you are not completely familiar and comfortable with 120V/240V electric circuitry, hire someone to install it. It's a fairly straightforward install, and whoever designed it did a great job.
