The pictures you see in ads for this poncho show folds in it that make it seem like it is made for back packs. IT IS NOT. This is simply an oversized poncho. I am 5' 8" tall, and when I have a medium sized backpack on, the back of the poncho barely hangs down far enough to keep the back of my legs from getting soaked. The back of this poncho is no longer than the front, the neck zipper is cheap, and in my opinion, a useless thing that will break because it is so cheap. Part of the advertisement says you can use it as an "emergency bivy". This poncho is too cheap for that. Please do not try to bivouac in this. You would suffer. I have a Kelty poncho with a fold down flap in back that works better than this. On the positive side. This poncho is very light weight, and folds up small. It also dries quickly, and will definitely shed water. This is a poncho for wide people going to outdoor festivals. THIS IS NOT A BACKPACKING PONCHO BECAUSE THE MATERIAL WILL RIP TOO EASILY. I would pay no more than $20.00 for this poncho, and that is with tax and shipping included. Anything more is unfair. Read full review

This is my 3rd snugpak patrol poncho. Everyone in my family has one and its standard equipment on every hike we go on. It's lighter than a military poncho and just as strong. The sleeves are a huge improvement over the traditional rectangle style. We are always hiking above 9k feet and this provides year round water protection with minimum bulk.

Serious improvement over previous poncho. Much better than the U.S. one. Yah it might be nice to have a poncho that can double as a shelter but I'd rather have a shelter and a poncho that excels as a poncho. This fills that role.

I've had mine for a year now and use it to Nordic walk and backpacking. Great product. I use a alps commande 110 liter backpack it works well. I have a lot of snugpak gear. The only complantis the stuff sacks are a pain in the butt because there to small.
