I've been a DC fan since 1972 when the television programming had been playing Aquaman and Superman Batman Adventures from Filmation group. Even before the first times in Kindergarten I had comics that before being able to read I would go from panel to panel making up my own story of what the people were doing because I couldn't read them. Now my affection for them grew as the television shows changed into The Superfriends and I was even more amazed by what they were doing when The Challenge of the Superfriends came out because now there were the villains finally not aliens or strange things coming from another dimension. When this series came out although I was a freshman in High School I was collecting comics and had bought the Super Powers Kenner line because they were about the size of the Star Wars figures but these had super actions with them and there was a lot more of a mix of these hero's than just the 5 - 8 that Mego had put out. I also had the Super Powers comic set as well. What was really tough was the time slot for this show it was on the same time as a show my younger sister wanted to see every Saturday and I can't recall what that was but being an older brother that wanted to help her with such things so she could watch her kids programming. Now with this set I can see these episodes Hanna Barbera sure outdid themselves with this series. It's too bad that it didn't last a season I suppose back then there was so many cartoons that were based on toys that this one wasn't really stopping the traffic and probably wasn't really put forward as much as the other things that Filmation was doing then. Like He-Man and the like but this is really worth the money if you are a collector of DC superheroes you really should include this in your catalog of Animation Superhero dvd sets.Read full review

Great price for reliving the old Super Powers Team animated shows. I feel this is the very best representation of all the Super Friends shows. It's too bad it's only 10 episodes but still very much worth it. Brings me back to yesteryear... the good ole days... when good and evil had a clear line between them... good guys always won and the bad guys lived to fight another day.
