To be honest, I bought this bass mostly because of a great discount offered by Musician's Friend. I didn't want to spend a lot on the bass since I only wanted to experiment with fretless playing. However, this bass was a pleasant surprise. It looks great, plays great and has provided me with a bass sound I always wanted but could never get with my fretted basses. I was concerned that I would play out of tune without the frets, but it was easy to get used to finding the correct notes. The pickups are excellent! I've recorded several tunes with it now and honestly love the results. I'm impressed by Rogue basses, which many of my bass-playing friends shrug off as being "cheap" and not a brand name. They don't know what they are missing! I intend to buy a fretted version ASAP. It is lighter than my Fender Jazz basses and the smaller neck is easier to play. In conclusion, I'll never be a bass 'snob' again. Rogue products are an excellent bargain and not just for "beginner" bass players.Read full review

Amazingly good quality for a new fretless bass under $125!! A lightweight solid, clean body with a highly polished finish, a strong and straight thin neck, and adequate electronics for getting that righteous fretless bass sound. And it came set up nicely also with good low action on flatwound strings. Now I'm not a pro bassist, but I doubt I'd enjoy playing a $300 bass much more than this inexpensive Rogue fretless. -IMO an excellent bass guitar for learning and practice and a backup one you could also play a gig with too...

Ok, let's be clear - this is nobody's Fender Jazzmaster. The bass has a few faults, most prominent of which is that the thing is very light. Havng said that, this is a really good bass, for the price. If you want a Fender orba Peavy, then by all means, go out and spend that kind of money. But if you are looking for a good, well-functioning workhorse of a bass, to help you see if you want to add fretless to your repertoire, then buy a Rogue. The instrument sounds good, and feels good in the hands.

Worth Much More Than You Pay For! There are issues with the plastic nut and the cheap bridge, they are cheaply made, but does not affect the value of the guitar! Has a great feel! The strings are perfect gauge, great quality surprisingly. The tone is awesome! You have to hear it yourself to believe it. I compare it to Ibanez, which is the ultimate bass imo. In fact, I prefer this to my Ibanez with active controls, and my Yamaha fretless. This is the bass I will use on my next recordings.

This base has a good playing action, non buzzing notes, great unexpected sustain. Perfect for any king of music. Its NOT a double bass with a deeper low tone but a well done guitar that plays very. Surely, not a bass for inexpert players.
