Originally designed by SM Pro Audio in Austrailia, then snapped up by Harmon and sold under the Soundcraft brand, this is a terrific idea. I hope they bring out larger units with 16, 24, and 32 channels. There is no actual app, it opens like a website page, and has most of the features you would want, one of the best being the ability to play MP3 files through a USB input on the front panel. The songs show up as a list on your screen, and stay in folders as albums or however you saved them. All remote controllable (much better than Mackie DL32R.) Built in wireless router. Just wish I could get one with more inputs.

Installed and tested this unit last week. Results were not what I excepted for a Soundcraft product. The noise floor is quite loud. I had output noise on my speakers from the Aux outputs without the power switch on. The Mains are tolerable but the Aux feeds to my recording PC is poor. Using this for recording Church Services. Only 2 units available in all of North America and I got a noisy one!

I'm not one to put much faith in computer tech stuff. If it does not have real knobs and buttons I'm skeptical. However the Ui12 is the exception to the rule. With my iPad as the touch control I have total confidence in this system. Plus the wireless wifi is amazing. With the ability to save settings. Adjust eq with a visual sliding scale or traditional bar sliders from anywhere in the room. The built in effects are great. I can start with saved settings and make adjustments to suit the room. Best features, it's small, light weight, and visually simple. If you though you could never run a sound system. No worries. You can run this one. If I could design a sound system this would be it.

I have 2 other Soundcraft boards and decided to go digital for live gigs. This unit gives me the versatility of 8 inputs for XLR/1/4 or combo's of each. With two Hi"Z" inputs, worrying about DI boxes is a thing of the past. It takes a little getting used to, because it doesn't use an App...uses a direct link to your Browser! How cool is that! Once you read the paperwork (always got to have paperwork) it's simple and easy to use. There are a lot of U-Tube tutorials for it also if you need to see it function. Really great device for the money and it works with ANY device...tablet, phone, PC, or laptop. Have at it you live gig folks!

This mixer was so easy to set up right out of the box. I use it to mix my drum kit, and with the presets on each channel, it makes it even easier. Each channel has the eq, gate, compressor and effects already set for kick, snare, toms etc. With some minor tweaking, I was ready for my first gig with it in less than an hour. My kit has both acoustic and electronic drums and triggers, so getting them to blend isn't always easy. This mixer made it easy! I pan my kick to the Left and the rest of the kit to the Right, send my main mix to two channels on our main board, and I keep control of my sound. I also don't have to carry around an extra rack full of effects anymore. My lead player is buying one just for the Amp modeling. We don't have a single amp on stage anymore. I read that people had antenna issues, I did not. I bought an antenna booster and haven't had to use it. Can't beat the price! Read full review
