I would give this Scarlet 2i2 the highest recommendation. I have used Apogee and T C Electronic, which are all great sounding and functional, but this box from Focusrite is exactly all I need for High fidelity stereo recordings on the go with my laptop. USB bus powered and small footprint, high-end 24bit/96K converters, two Neutrik combo jacks, legendary mic preamps, plus elegant design and appearance. Very easy to use, plug and play for Mac. Plus really useful suite of 4 plug-ins makes it the best value on the market for a stereo interface

I love this little box! It's so much quieter than my old M-Audio DI and much more transparent with a touch of warmth from the Focusrite preamps. I barely have to EQ anymore! Comes with great plugins for your DAW to mess around with. I'm sure you'll use at least one constantly.

I'm new to recording and somewhat technically challenged, and I was able to plug the Scarlett 2i2 in and use it within minutes with both Audacity and Reaper. If you need the driver, it's easy to install from the Focusrite website. The unit feels solid, is great looking, and works like a charm. I wanted an input for vocals and another to simultaneously record guitar or piano ... It's perfect for my needs and was rated highly from my research. I couldn't be happier.

The unit comes with license keys for "lite" versions of Ableton Live and ProTools. It works seamlesly with Logic Pro X, Audacity and Garageband. It is very well built and sounds excellent. The 2i2 can record 24-bit audio sampled at 96kHz. Perfect for vocals + an instrument.

Sound works perfectly exactly what I needed for an interface. 1st generation only puts out 96kHz at 24-bit which was very good for it's time. For you audiophiles out there you may want to get the 2nd generation being it puts out 192kHz at 24-bit sampling rate if you're picky. I myself don't need that since my ears are toned from being a drummer. Sound is still very clean no hissing on my unit. Haven't tested mic inputs yet but will soon! Just ordered my EV RE320 mic. If you want to watch a review of the mic and Scarlett 1st Gen together no post processing subscribe to my channel bennyksbandwidth This unit is perfect for what I need.
