While it is good and has a unique tone and sound, getting a Bassballs Nano is the same thing, but it's brighter and takes much less space. No need to hunt for these Sovtek ones. There are better sounding ones. However, the Sovtek Big Muff Pi is worth it... even for bassists.

I'm struggling to think if I can use this pedal at all, it's had some good reviews and I did watch the u tube demo clip, but it's non functional with my mxr 'la machine' distortion pedal, as an envelope its either to much or to slow and flat - I don't know worth a try,and the guys I brought it from got here really quick, you just have to try these things but no, not my cup of tea....

INSPIRED I am able to create some very cool sound shaping and that helps take me in new directions in my writing style. PUNCH The sound I am able to create has definite power (balls).

Had the pleasure of this occupying my pedalboard 20 years ago… And regretted every second of having sold it off to foolishly try another envelope filter pedal! Turns out that this baby right here (the Sovtek model anyway) gets the perfect twin – filtered envelope sound that I hear in my head, controllable to every degree of peak – and – dip that your imagination can muster. Not exactly a vintage Mu-Tron unit, but more like one that tunes into its best and most popular settings. Get these balls for your bass!!!
